Denise Richards and her husband, Aaron Phypers, are safe after a road rage incident.
Richards was "very shaken up" after her vehicle was shot during a road rage incident in Los Angeles Monday, People reported. The "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" alum and Phypers were driving to Popsicle Studio in South Los Angeles, where she was filming for an upcoming project when the incident happened.
"She was very shaken up and terrified, but she was a trooper, and she went and filmed the whole day," a source on the set told People. "She didn't want to not show up to work."
The "Sex, Love & Secrets" star was in the passenger seat of their Ford F-150 Shelby pick-up truck while her husband was driving. Phypers noticed a gold and maroon van following them. He reportedly "kept making rights" because he noticed that "they were clearly being followed."
"The guy was obviously pissed behind him," the insider continued. "The van was on his tail, pushing him almost... they couldn't figure it out."
The couple was reportedly "frantic" over the situation. The van pulled up to their left, and Phypers rolled down his window to confront the driver. There was an exchange, and the man claimed Richards' husband cut him off.
Phypers apologized, but the man reportedly continued to yell. So, Denise and Phypers drove off. However, they later realized that the driver had shot the back of their truck.
"The guy had taken off by then, but when they realized the car was shot, they were really freaked out, and the production secured the scene," the source said. "Even though they were upset, [Richards] decided to stay and film. Her role was just a one-day deal."
The insider continued, "The production company made her feel safe, but they didn't file a police report. They think now that people were after the car itself because it's worth a lot of money."
The "Twisted" star was unnerved and sobbing on set. Someone from the production saw the bullet hole on her truck at the driver's side back end and called 911, TMZ reported.
It's unclear if the officers responded to the scene because the Los Angeles Police Department told People it didn't have information about the incident.
