‘Descendants 2’ Spoilers: Ursula’s Daughter Uma Introduced In New Trailer Dropped By Disney Channel

Disney Channel just dropped a new teaser for its original movie, “Descendants 2,” and it introduced a new character named Uma (China Mae McClain).

Uma is Ursula’s daughter, and she’s acting as the leader in the Isle of the Lost since Maleficent’s daughter, Mal (Dove Cameron), left the home to live a life in Auradon. However, Mal soon realizes that Auradon is nothing compared to the Isle of the Lost so she decides to go back. When she finds out that her nemesis, Uma, is heading the home, she will take matters to her own hands to restore order.

In the two-minute teaser, Mal also discovers that Uma is receiving help from her friends, Harry (Thomas Doherty) and Gil (Dylan Playfair), the sons of Captain Hook and Gaston, respectively. This makes it more difficult for her to take over. Not to mention, some of the residents in the Isle of the Lost are not pleased with Mal’s decision to suddenly leave them for Auradon. But thankfully, Mal will have Evie (Sofia Carson), Jay (Booboo Stewart) and Carlos (Cameron Boyce) by her side.

Meanwhile, other than the launch of the new trailer at the Radio Disney Music Awards 2017, the network also dropped the official music video for “Ways to Be Wicked,” one of the songs that will be featured in the upcoming movie. The four-minute music video featured all of the cast members of “Descendants 2.”

While speaking with E! News, the cast of the hit movie shared their most favorite scenes from the sequel. Stewart said, “My favorite musical number in the movie is ‘Ways to Be Wicked.’ It has all the feelings of the Isle of the Lost, and it has this drive that never backs off. It was really fun to shoot, and I had a great time doing it.”

Cameron, on the other hand, said that her favorite scene from the movie was when she spray-painted the statue of the Beast. “One of my favorite moments in the entire film may have been when I was spray painting the statue of the Beast and jumping off the ladder and calling to all the Auradonians. I remember freaking everyone out because director Kenny Ortega kept saying, ‘Go there, go to a place you’ve never been with Mal.’ Mal is my favorite character ever, and to play the most concentrated version of her was such a treat,” she said.

In other news, Carson, whose character Evie happens to be the daughter of the Evil Queen, confirmed that “Descendants 2” will pick up right where the first installment left off. “It’s such a cool way to start off the movie because we’re right where we left off with ‘Descendants.’ We’re all in Auradon except we have now turned Auradon wicked. ‘Ways to Be Wicked’ was shot at a beautiful castle and Evie’s verse is in this gorgeous classroom with the most incredible dancers,” she said.

“Descendants 2” will premiere on Disney Channel on July 21 at 8 p.m. EST.
