Designer Alice Temperley Talks Kate Middleton’s Royal Seal Of Approval
Designer Alice Temperley said she liked the way Kate Middleton mixed designer with high street. The British designer also liked the fact that the 34-year-old royal wore an array of labels for her various official engagements. The Duchess of Cambridge wore two Alice Temperley creations during her royal tour of India and Bhutan with her husband Prince William in April.

“It was a lovely surprise. It always is,” said Alice, talking about Kate wearing her dresses. She added that she was flattered the royal mom chose to wear her creations and that “the importance [of Kate] can’t be underestimated.” The designer was speaking to Hello about Kate’s royal seal of approval.
The designer, who hails from Somerset in England said that most of the times she is not aware that the mother-of-two would wear her designs. Alice accepted the fact that Kate wore her dresses often, but it was never planned. She added that even she never knew till photographs of Kate appeared everywhere wearing her dresses.
As a fashion icon, Alice felt that Kate was “doing a great job.” She loved the way the royal mixed designer with high-street and even wore an array of labels. And, Kate is not the only one in love with the British fashion designer’s creations.
Several celebrities sport Alice Temperley designs, from Kate’s younger sister Pippa Middelton, to Olga Kurylenko, Olivia Grant, Kate Hudson, Amber Heard, Laura Bailey, Caroline Issa and even Meryl Streep. Alice said that they do not pay people to wear their clothes, unlike other eponymous and designer labels. Besides, she insists on being organic.
Her eponymous label does not advertise. Alice said that if celebs wore something from her creations, it was because they wanted to. She added that celebs usually borrow clothes or pre-order her clothes. Her designs appealed to women of all age groups from a young girl, to women like Pippa and even an elderly lady, said Alice.
