'Destiny 2' Grasp Of Avarice Guide: How To Beat The Final Boss
KEY POINTS
- This boss encounter is much easier compared to other dungeon boss fights
- Taking out the Sniper Shank is the top priority
- Players need to spread out to catch as many engrams around the room as possible
The Grasp of Avarice dungeon may just be the best addition to “Destiny 2” in years thanks to its unexpectedly humorous opening segment and relatively easy encounters on top of the amazing loot that players can get from each reward chest.
The final boss of this dungeon is fairly straightforward, although it can be a little tricky. While it isn’t nearly as difficult as the final encounters of other dungeons like in Prophecy or Pit of Heresy, it can take a bit of time if players don’t know how to do the fight correctly. Here’s a short guide on how to beat the final boss of the Grasp of Avarice dungeon in “Destiny 2.”
Boss Mechanic
This encounter will combine both the fake engram and scorch cannon mechanics from the previous areas. Players will need to gather engrams to feed the crystal on the middle platform in order to make the boss, Captain Avarokk, vulnerable to damage.
Boss Fight Strategy
Before going for the scorch cannons and engrams, it’s highly advised to take out the flying Sniper Shank above the boss first. This Shank is arguably the biggest threat in the room next to boss due to how accurately it can shoot its high-damage projectiles. Grab a sniper rifle or a linear fusion rifle and take the Shank down quickly.
Afterward, spread the fireteam out and have one member snatch a scorch cannon from one of the Vandals. The cannon user will be responsible for starting the three generators found on the arches of the main boss platform, while the others will handle add-clearing and engram gathering.
Make sure to split the fireteam to cover three different sectors of the arena. This will ensure that the team gets as many engrams per generator activation. Once all engrams are gathered, head to the crystal in the middle platform to begin the damage phase. Repeat this process until the boss is down.
Recommended Loadouts
A Focusing Lens setup with a Well of Radiance, Ward of Dawn and Silence and Squall guarantees the biggest damage buff for the entire team.
Since the boss will be in very close proximity during the damage phase, players can comfortably use Vorpal Weapon fusion rifles like the Cartesian Coordinate to burst the boss down. A fully-buffed Sleeper Simulant will deal over 100k damage per hit.
