'Destiny 2': Is 'The Title' SMG Worth Grinding For?
KEY POINTS
- The Title is a 750RPM Void SMG introduced in the 2022 Guardian Games
- The community has mixed feelings regarding the weapon's effectiveness in all game modes
- The Title's low range and perk pool leave much to be desired
The new SMG introduced in the 2022 Guardian Games has been causing a commotion in the “Destiny 2” community recently, not because it’s overpowered but because players seem to have mixed opinions about it.
The Title is a 750RPM Void SMG that got a lot of players excited in the weeks leading to the start of the Guardian Games. Not only is it a Hakke weapon in the energy slot, but it also comes with a new origin trait: Classy Contender.
When it was first teased, players were excited for the new trait and its synergy with the likes of Loreley Splendor for Titans, Vesper of Radius, Frostpulse for Warlocks and literally any build for Hunters. However, when players finally got their hands on the weapon, the reception was lukewarm.
When compared to PvP powerhouses like Shayura’s Wrath and Multimach, The Title was OK at best. The weapon’s maximum effective range with a full stack of range-boosting perks only amounted to 20.65m compared to the Multimach’s 25m and the Shayura’s 29m.
The time-to-kill on The Title remains competitive, however, especially when boosted by One For All, Swashbuckler and event Vorpal Weapon.
Just by stats and perk pools alone, The Title is notably more effective in closer ranges. With perk combos like High-Caliber Rounds, Hip-fire Grip and Swashbuckler, players can tear their enemies apart in a face-to-face fight.
This weapon isn’t bad in PvE either. Though Funnelweb and a Shayura’s Wrath with Golden Tricorn can easily win in terms of DPS, The Title can be a comfortable pick should players have a Stats For All and One For All roll.
Players can make great use of this weapon if they can play around its 20-something meter range. The Title can also shine in melee builds with a Graverobber and Swashbuckler perk combo. The Classy Contender trait may also come in handy once the next subclass rework is revealed next season.
Luckily, players don’t have to target farm The Title to get it. So long as they turn in Guardian Games medals at the Tower, then there should be no shortage of Titles in their inventories.
