‘Detroit: Become Human’ Quantic Dream Teases PS4 Exclusive Game’s Protest Scene
Detroit: Become Human was first announced as a PS4 exclusive during Paris Games Week 2015, and its developers at Quantic Dream are still hard at work polishing the narrative-driven game. Thursday, the team’s official Twitter account posted a video of what appears to be a rather odd recording session.
Standing in a large soundproof room, dozens of men and women involved with the project can be seen screaming in protest. What does this tell us about the game it comes from? Admittedly, not that much. However, since we already know Detroit’s story deals primarily with how Androids interact with humans in a futuristic society, there’s a sense that cultural clash might be the cause. Have humans taken to the streets to demonize servile robots? That scenario seems possible to us.

After all, a very similar protest scene is featured in the game’s announcement trailer while its main Android protagonist, Kara, talks about the harshness of the outside world. During E3 2016, we saw an equally contentious relationship brought to new heights when a mother learns that an Android negotiator, named Connor, is summoned to rescue her daughter from a hostage situation.
From what we can tell, it looks like Quantic Dream possibly needed some new audio to polish that previously teased moment. In terms of development, the fact that we’re seeing audio recording in progress is probably a good sign. Barring unforeseen circumstances, voice acting is generally conducted once a project is getting close to complete.
Detroit: Become Human is in development as a PS4 exclusive. While previously teased for a 2017 release in a Sony sizzle reel this January, its inclusion was officially regarded as a mistake.
What do you think of this Detroit: Become Human tease? Will this game continue the recent trend of stellar PS4 exclusives? Tell us in the comments section!
