The makers of “Diary of Our Days at the Breakwater” released an official statement Tuesday (June 2) confirming the return of the anime series.

Due to the spread of coronavirus infection, the production committee halted the series from episode 4 and beyond.

According to the official announcement, the production committee will restart airing “Diary of Our Days at the Breakwater” episode 1 Tuesday (July 7). Episode 4 of the anime series is expected to air Tuesday (July 28) if the makers do not go on hiatus again.

“Diary of Our Days at the Breakwater” episode 4 was scheduled to air Tuesday (April 28). This slice of life comedy series revolves around the life of a first-year student named Hina Tsurugi, who is an indoor person. She loves passing her time doing arts and crafts. However, she is introduced to fishing, and her adventure with the outdoor world starts.

“Based on the manga of the same name by Yasuyuki Kosaka, the series follows Hina Tsurugi, a first-year student who moves to a town by the sea. While Tsurugi is more of an “indoor kid” who enjoys things like arts and crafts, she is suddenly thrown into the world of fishing when an older student, Yuuki Kuroiwa, invites her to be a part of the school's fishing club,” reads the official series synopsis.

The cast of the anime series includes Kanon Takao as Hina Tsurgi, Satomi Akesaka as Makoto Oono, Yuu Sasahara as Yuuki Kuroiwa and Natsumi Kawaida as Natsumi Hodaka.

The series is directed by Takaharu Okuma at Doga Kobo. The series composition is handled by Fumihiko Ogura. The staff of “Diary of Our Days at the Breakwater” includes Hiroyuki Ogura (Fishing track prop design), Kyoko Nagata (prop design), Studio easter (aesthetics), Azuma Junichi (art setting), Katsuhiro Kumagai, Atsushi Soga, Keiko Ichihara (drawing direction), Takafumi Hashino (sound director), Flying Dog (music production), Miki Sakurai (music composer).

“Diary of Our Days at the Breakwater” episodes can be streamed on Funimation. Currently, three episodes of the series are available in Japanese with English subtitles.
