Did Brad Pitt Cheat On Angelina Jolie? If He Did, It Wasn’t With Marion Cotillard

“Allied” actor Marion Cotillard took to Instagram to curb rumors that Brad Pitt, her co-star in the World War II drama, cheated on Angelina Jolie with her. As the French star noted in her Intsagram post, it’s the first time she’s responded to gossip about Pitt having a purported affair. While there are other celebrities who could have been Pitt's mistress, it certainly wasn't Cotillard.

“This is going to be my first and only reaction to the whirlwind news that broke 24 hours ago and that I was swept up into,” Cotillard, 40, wrote on her official account Wednesday. “I am not used to commenting on things like this nor taking them seriously but as this situation is spiraling and affecting people I love, I have to speak up.”

The accusation of Cotillard being Pitt’s mistress became front page news after Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt Monday. What most disturbed the Oscar award-winning actor is that her partner, French director Guillaume Canet, is also being swept into the drama.

“Firstly, many years ago, I met the man of my life, father of our son and of the baby we are expecting. He is my love, my best friend, the only one that I need,” the pregnant star explained.

Cotillard then addressed tabloid stipulation that she is “devastated” by all the rumors. “Secondly to those who have indicated that I am devastated, I am very well thank you,” she said. “This crafted conversation isn't distressing.”

Cotillard also addressed her naysayers, writing, “And to all the media and the haters who are quick to pass judgment, I sincerely wish you a swift recovery.”

Before she signed off, she wished Pitt, 52, and Jolie, 41, the best: “Finally, I do very much wish that Angelina and Brad, both whom I deeply respect, will find peace in this very tumultuous moment. With all my love, Marion.”

Cotillard isn’t the only one who Pitt is rumored to have had an affair with. He is also accused of cheating on his wife with “Come and Get It” singer Selena Gomez, ex-wife and “Friends” alum Jennifer Aniston and “Allied” costar Lizzy Caplan.

Jolie was reportedly upset when Gomez posted an Instagram picture of herself talking to Pitt in January. The two starred in the film “The Big Short” together.

Pitt has endlessly been accused of shaking up with Aniston, though the “Friends” star never confirmed the rumor. In fact, she slammed the media during an essay for the Huffington Post in July after she was relentlessly accused of being pregnant.

Caplan falls into the same category as Cotillard since they all worked on “Allied” together. They were caught kissing on the set, according to tabloid rumors.

The trailer for the World War II drama coincidentally dropped Tuesday, the same day news broke that Jolie had filed for divorce from Pitt.

Jolie did not explain why she was seeking a divorce. She cited irreconcilable differences in the filing.
