Did Michelle Obama Roll Her Eyes At John Boehner During Inauguration Luncheon? FLOTUS Not Impressed With Speaker Of The House [GIF]
When first lady Michelle Obama is making headlines it’s often for her choice in wardrobe, but on President Barack Obama’s second inauguration day, the FLOTUS was being widely gossiped about after she was caught rolling her eyes at the speaker of the House, Republican John Boehner.
So far throughout the day’s pageantry, she’s been smiling brightly and received her normal compliments for her choice in attire, but it seems she hasn’t been entertained by all of the day’s events.
During the Inauguration Day luncheon in the Capitol, the president leaned behind Mrs. Obama to say something to Boehner, who was seated to the first lady’s left.
The speaker, after responding to the president, then tapped the first lady on the shoulder as if to see if she agreed. Turns out she didn’t — or at least that’s the way it looks based on her eye roll and the shake of her head.
The FLOTUS continued to eat, where it seemed she refused to respond to Boehner’s non-verbal attempt to communicate with her.
Tumblr blogger Mattyrab put together a hilarious GIF that shows Obama do a quick eye roll, shake her head and continue to put her fork in her mouth.
According to the Huffington Post, the president revealed that though there might have been some disagreement in the exchange the three had during the inaugural luncheon, both his wife and Boehner agreed he should be brief with speaking.
"Michelle and the speaker of the House came to a meeting of the minds that I may be delaying the proceedings too much," Obama said reportedly said. "And so I'm just going to be extraordinarily brief and say thank you."
The first lady is sure to be talked about in the upcoming hours; with everyone waiting to see what type of magnificent dress she will be wearing the 2013 Inauguration Balls.
