Did Prince Charles And Camilla Parker-Bowles Plot To ‘Trap’ Princess Diana?
It’s no secret that they had an affair which led to his divorce from Princess Diana, but a shock new claim from a journalist indicates that Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles plotted against his first wife in an attempt to make him have suitable heirs to the throne while they still carried on behind her back.
In an appearance on the Jeremy Vine show (via Express UK), British journalist Yasmin Alibhai-Brown revealed that she believes the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall worked together to “trap” Princess Diana in an unhappy marriage with the only goal being that she would provide him with the heirs he needed. Meanwhile, he and Parker-Bowles continued seeing one another behind his wife’s back.
“I have never forgiven both of them, never. Even now. There was this child, a damaged young girl,” she said. “They plotted, like ‘Dangerous Liaisons,’ together. They plotted to bring her in as his wife so she could breed and then they carried on.”
She went on to state that she felt the two were terrible for doing what they did to Princess Diana, indicating that Charles only married Diana because he couldn’t be with Camilla and that she approved of the woman who would become his wife. She also went on to state that they didn’t have to go the route they did, and instead married one another from the beginning, leaving Diana completely out of it.
“For me, she was a young child. It was the worst kind of arranged marriage imaginable. Apparently, Camilla approved of Diana,” she said. “How can that be acceptable, in any woman, that you do this? You manipulate and entrap—they didn’t have to do that. They could have married.”
The shock claims come as reports surfaced that Charles’ marriage to Diana really ended right after she gave birth to Prince Harry, and also after it was revealed that he was devastated when Camilla married her first husband, Andrew Parker-Bowles, while he was away in the Royal Navy. He went on to later marry Diana, but he and Camilla carried on with an affair during their marriages.
Charles and Diana’s divorce became official in 1996, one year before her tragic death in a car crash in Paris. He and Camilla wed in 2005.
