Did Prince William Shave His Head To Avoid Prince Harry’s ‘Baldness’ Jokes?
Prince William was recently photographed with his shaved head, and Kate Middleton’s hairdresser Richard Ward’s deputy, Joey Wheeler, oversaw the prince’s new hairstyle during a private haircut session in Kensington Palace.
A source told The Sun that Ward was the one who encouraged Prince William to shave his head. “Wills sought Richard’s advice, but it was Joey who was the one to visit the palace and give him his new buzz cut,” the source said.
There are rumors suggesting that Prince William got tired of hearing Prince Harry’s jokes that’s why he decided to shave off his head. In the past, Meghan Markle’s fiancé admitted that Prince William is the smarter one, but he’s also the bald one.
“I think he is definitely brainier than I am, but we established that at school, along with his baldness,” he joked.
Even Prince William has joked about his receding hairline. After Prince George was born in 2013, the doting dad said that he’s happy his son has thick hair. Last year, he also joked with a hairstylist about not being able to give him much business because he doesn’t have much hair either.
Middleton has also teased her husband about his receding hairline. In 2014, Lyn Crejan, a farmer from South Wales said (via Vanity Fair), “The prince was interested in the alpaca and as I showed it to them, the princess said he should put it on his head. She said, ‘You need it more than me,’ and pointed to his head and laughed.”
Last Christmas, there were also speculations suggesting that Markle gave her future brother-in-law a ginger wig hat. The hat when worn will make Prince William look as though he has thick ginger hair just like Prince Harry.
Prince William was photographed with his new haircut on Thursday while at the London charity event organized to benefit the Evelina Children’s Hospital in Lambeth. He was not accompanied by Middleton during his recent royal visit, according to BBC News.
