Dior designer John Galliano designs Claridge's Christmas tree
Dior Creative Director John Galliano returns once again to design this year's Christmas tree for London's iconic Claridge's hotel.
This is the second consecutive year that Galliano has designed a dazzling centrepiece, which will be on display at the hotel till January 5, 2011.
The majestic beauty of Claridge's Art Deco interiors never fails to inspire me. I am thrilled to be invited to create a new tree for Christmas at Claridge's, said Galliano on his collaboration with Calridge's.
The theme for this year was underwater fantasy as Galliano wanted to create something unique and luxurious with mixed pink corals, seahorses, anemones and jellyfish, all glinting like gem stones, swimming amidst the silver leaves settings.
The designer's 2009 creation of a frozen tree had turned into a massive holiday sensation. This year, Galliano wanted to design an extremely unique creation.
We are excited to see the return of the legendary John Galliano, who has once again created the Christmas magic in our lobby. Following his spectacular tree last year, we simply could not resist to see the new design which will keep London talking throughout the season. Both Claridge's and Dior are synonymous with timeless glamour and impeccable heritage and we look forward to celebrating the festive season together, said Thomas Kochs, Claridge's Hotel Manager.
With the new Christmas tree, the entire lobby of the hotel has turned into a oceanic paradise.
