Disney Movies Coming Out In 2019: 11 Family-Friendly Films And Sequels Releasing

Disney is looking ahead to a very big year at the box office in 2019, and there will be more than enough opportunities for fans of the studios to head to movie theaters and watch several impressive films that they are putting forward.

The company is planning on putting out 11 big films this year and seems to be planning on virtually cornering the market with their releases. With stories from the Marvel universe, continued live-action and animated successes, another “Star Wars” chapter and newer material as well.

Here are all the movies Disney is releasing in 2018:

“Captain Marvel”--March 8

Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) gets caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races.

“Dumbo”--March 29

A young elephant, whose oversized ears enable him to fly, helps save a struggling circus, but when the circus plans a new venture, Dumbo and his friends discover dark secrets beneath its shiny veneer.

“Penguins”--April 19

In the icy Antarctic spring, a penguin names Steve joins millions of fellow males on a quest to build a suitable nest, find a life partner and start a family.

“Avengers: Endgame”-- April 26

Adrift in space with no food or water, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) sends a message to Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) as his oxygen supply starts to dwindle. Meanwhile, the remaining Avengers—Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Black Widow (Scarlett Johannson), Captain America (Chris Evans) and Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo)-- must figure out a way to bring back their vanquished allies for an epic showdown with Thanos (Josh Brolin)--the evil demigod who decimated the planet and the universe.

“Aladdin”-- May 24

This movie, starring Naomi Scott, Mena Massoud and Will Smith, is a live-action retelling of the 1992 Disney film of the same name.

“Toy Story 4”-- June 21

When a new toy called “Forky” joins Woody and the gang, a road trip alongside old and new friends reveals how big the world can be for a toy.

“Spider-Man: Far From Home”-- July 5

Peter Parker (Tom Holland) and his friends go on summer vacation to Europe, and there, Peter finds himself trying to save his friends against a villain known as Mysterio.

“The Lion King”--July 19

This CGI reimaging journeys to the African savanna where a future king is born. Simba idolizes his father, King Mufasa, and takes to his heart his own royal destiny. But not everyone in the kingdom celebrates the new cub’s arrival. Scar, Mufasa’s brother—and former heir to the throne—has plans of his own. The battle for Pride Rock is ravaged with betrayal, tragedy and drama, ultimately resulting in Simba’s exile. With help from a curious pair of newfound friends, Simba will have to figure out how to grow up and take back what is rightfully his.

“Artemis Fowl”-- August 9

Artemis Fowl II, a young Irish criminal mastermind, kidnaps the fairy LEPrecon officer Holly Short for ransom to fund the search for his missing father in order to restore the family fortune.

“Frozen 2”-- Nov. 22

Elsa the Snow Queen and her sister embark on an adventure far away from the kingdom of Arendelle.

“Star Wars: Episode IX”-- Dec. 20

This film serves as the conclusion of the “Star Wars” sequel trilogy.
