‘Doctor Who’ Actor Tanya Fear Reported Missing In Los Angeles, Family Pleads For Help

“Doctor Who” actor Tanya Fear has been reported missing in Los Angeles by her family as loved ones and friends seek information about the British actor’s disappearance through social media.

A poster being shared across social media stated that Fear was last seen Thursday. American writer Al Letson, British author and journalist Bolu Babalola, news editor Elizabeth Pears and British actor Oliver Stark were among the celebrities who joined the call to find the missing actress.

Fear’s family has established a Twitter account dedicated to information about the actor’s disappearance. Her friends and fans are urging people to use the hashtag, #FindTanyaFear, on social media to gather any information about her disappearance. In the latest update posted Sunday evening on the account, Fear’s family said the actor was last seen “at Trader Joe’s on Santa Monica Blvd.”

American actor Harold Perrineau also retweeted a photo of Fear that was taken by actress Aurora Perrineau earlier this month in which she can be seen in her natural afro hair.

A Los Angeles police department spokesperson said a missing person’s report was completed Thursday, but no additional details were made available, NBC News reported. Fear’s manager, Alex Cole, also confirmed the news.

Cole said Fear has been trying out stand-up comedy in the area and has been residing in Los Angeles for two months. Speaking with Today, Cole said he last spoke with Fear eight days ago. They discussed work and she was fine at the time of their conversation. “It was a shock to me,” Cole said of Fear’s sudden disappearance.

Babalola provided an update on how Fear looked on the day of her disappearance, stating that the actor’s hair was “natural, in its afro state.” Babalola also retweeted a post that stated Fear was last seen "wearing a short-sleeved brown collared fitted top with a few buttons at the top and dark plaid pants (I think they are pants but could be shorts or something else)."

Fear is best known for her portrayal of Dr. Jade McIntyre in a 2018 episode of “Doctor Who.” She last appeared on TV in a romantic comedy series called “Shoot Your Shot.” She also previously appeared in the 2015 Netflix series “Spotless” and the movie “A Moving Image.”
