Does Kate Middleton Like Meghan Markle? Relationship Examined After Prince Harry Engagement

While Meghan Markle has managed to capture the heart of Prince Harry since meeting him over a year ago, the actress has also seemed to have gained the admiration of another royal, her future sister-in-law, Kate Middleton.

There has been plenty of speculation as to whether the Duchess of Cambridge actually likes the actress, however, before Markle and Prince Harry announced their engagement, there have been several occasions that seem to have confirmed that Catherine will happily accept the “Suits” star into the royal family.

The women were reportedly first introduced in January at Kensington Palace and the meeting went “really well,” according to The Sun. At the time, Middleton was away for her birthday in Norfolk and made the trip to London just so she could exchange pleasantries with her brother-in-law’s then girlfriend.

“Kate was really looking forward to meeting Meghan and she knew how important it was to Harry,” a source told the media outlet.

“Obviously Harry’s mother, Princess Diana, died when he was very young so Kate really fulfills that older sister/maternal role. They are very close and he really values her opinion on girlfriends,” the insider added.

Markle also reportedly met Kate’s daughter, Princess Charlotte, whom she shares with Prince William.

Although their introduction is said to have went off without a hitch, it seems that Middleton and Markle had a lot in common before they even met. The two women seem to think alike when it comes to fashion and even own similar versions of the same Diane von Furstenberg lace gown.

While it doesn’t seem likely that they will be going through one another’s closets and borrowing articles of clothing, there is a good chance the ladies will bond over their fashion sense.

Since their initial meeting, Middleton and Markle’s relationship has remained friendly. Months after their get together in London, the actress attended the Duchess’ younger sister Pippa Middleton’s wedding reception in May.

While she was not present at the actual ceremony, it seems highly unlikely that Middleton would be comfortable with Harry inviting a woman who she was not fond of to her sister’s wedding festivities.

It seems Middleton and Markle get along well and will have a lifetime to get to learn more about each other.
