Does Queen Elizabeth Dislike Kate Middleton Just Like Princess Diana? Netizens Discuss
How’s Queen Elizabeth II and Kate Middleton’s relationship?
One netizen took to Quora to ask if Queen Elizabeth II doesn’t like the Duchess of Cambridge just like her late mother-in-law Princess Diana. Many netizens responded to the inquiry.
“From what we see, it doesn't seem like she doesn't like her. But the truth is something we will never find out, just like we aren't sure she never liked Diana,” Barkha Samnani, a self-confessed royal fan, foodie, shopaholic, and traveler commented.
“Yes, Some of Kate’s behavior mirrors Diana’s behavior and personality traits and the Queen doesn’t like it at all. It’s going to lead to even more problems between these two powerful women,” another netizen wrote.
Meanwhile, a number said that it’s difficult to tell since the Queen doesn’t speak her feelings publicly. So, it’s unknown whether she likes or dislikes a member of the royal family.
Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth II reportedly avoided Middleton for five years while she was still dating Prince William. According to a report, the Queen waited until Prince William’s relationship with Middleton became serious before she met her.
Queen Elizabeth II and Middleton first met at Peter and Autumn Phillip’s wedding. The Duchess of Cambridge said that they had a “very friendly” encounter and it was fine.
In the documentary “Our Queen at Ninety,” Middleton shared the most memorable engagement she had and it was with Queen Elizabeth II when they visited Leicester. According to the royal mother of three, she went without Prince William and she was very apprehensive about it, but the Queen was very supportive of her.
Also, the Queen did a lot of things for Middleton. For instance, she issued a decree in 2013 granting the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s children a royal title. Queen Elizabeth II made this exception for Middleton but for Meghan Markle.
The decree is the reason all of Prince William and Middleton’s children are called prince and princess. In the old Letters Patent, only Prince William’s eldest son would receive an HRH title, so Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis would have not received the same title.
