From the outside looking in, it can be easy to believe that every member of the British Royal Family is feuding with every other member on a day-to-day basis. Media reports often paint the Royal Family as one with plenty of internal conflicts, especially as new members like Meghan Markle are added through marriage.

Given the amount of gossip around the Royal Family, it is fair to wonder if Queen Elizabeth II actually likes Markle. After all, Markle and her husband Prince Harry have been known to break from established royal traditions from time to time. The two will shake hands with the public at events and engage in public displays of affection, for example, two things the Queen is said to dislike.

Queen Elizabeth was also reportedly unhappy with the alleged feud between Markle and Kate Middleton that has been reported on in the past few months. Markle and Prince Harry are about to move away from Kensington Palace to a more private home at Frogmore Cottage, which plenty have speculated was fueled by the feud.

There have even been questions about whether or not the Queen encouraged the move.

That said, it seems the Queen’s relationship with Markle is moving in a positive direction, overall. Markle was featured heavily in the Queen’s end-of-year highlights video to commemorate 2018, for example.

Royal experts in the media have also said the Queen might like Markle more than Middleton.

More recently, some have posited that Markle’s pregnancy and her marriage to Prince Harry have improved her standing with the Queen. According to reports, the Queen respects how diligently Markle has continued to work as a royal while pregnant. Markle has kept traveling and making public appearances despite the baby’s due date coming up in the near future.

The Queen apparently has a distinctive affection for Prince Harry, which has made Markle more endearing to her. It could be because Prince Harry is far enough down the line of succession that he will likely never be king, while his brother Prince William will most likely ascend to the throne in his lifetime.
