A dog owner was left “dripping in blood” after she and her pet were attacked by two unleashed dogs during a walk. The incident took place in Clydebank, Scotland, on Monday.

Speaking to local daily Clydebank Post, Nicole Thom-Dowling said she was walking her dog, named Willow, near a canal when two canines approached them.

Recalling the incident, she said, “The two dogs were off leash, no owner in sight and unmuzzled. They started circling us and then started to bite and pull Willow's back end. I was screaming my head off and trying to get them off. When they attempted to go for her neck I managed to lift her up and at that point they bit me.”

She added that the owner of the canines arrived at the scene but walked away unapologetically.

“The owner eventually made her way to us in no rush as her dogs continued to try and get to Willow in my arms. She wouldn't give me her name and then walked away from me while I was dripping in blood,” she said.

Thom-Dowling’s husband and a neighbor, however, managed to stop the woman, following which police were called to the scene.

Meanwhile, Willow was being treated for injuries.

“Willow surprisingly seems okay, although she is being treated for shock and wounds. I needed a tetanus shot and antibiotics,” Thom-Dowling said.

Warning others about the two dogs, a great Dane and a medium-sized brown staffie, she said, “If you see these dogs please be on your guard. I wish I had known, and I would have lifted her up straight away. The fact she had a muzzle with her and put it on the great Dane afterwards makes me think this is not the first time this has happened. This could've been so much worse so please watch for this irresponsible owner.”
