In a case of animal cruelty, a teenage boy was arrested after a video went viral on Snapchat showing a dog being punched and stabbed to death. The incident took place in Kentucky.

According to the Laurel County sheriff’s office, the 17-year-old posted a video showing a dog being punched. After the video surfaced, the sheriff’s office received numerous calls Wednesday reporting the abuse. Authorities said the dog died following the attack.

The juvenile was charged with second-degree cruelty to animals and torture of a dog or cat.

Deputy Gilbert Acciardo told local media WKYT there could be more arrests in the case.

“This is horrible. This is not something we look at casually,” Acciardo said. “We’re going to do whatever we need to do to bring people to justice on this.”

The investigation is ongoing and the dog’s remains were taken to Lexington where a necropsy will be performed.

It remains unclear if the dog belonged to the suspect.

In another horrific animal abuse case, a woman from Portland, Connecticut, had to return home early from a vacation after she saw live CCTV footage of her dog sitter abusing her pets. Cindy Gruss hired a dog sitter to look after her three pets while she went on a vacation. However, she was surprised when she saw the woman dragging and pulling the animals in the live videos.
