Dogecoin Releases First-Ever Roadmap Following Pressure From Shiba Inu's Gaming Venture
KEY POINTS
- The Dogecoin Foundation released its first roadmap in 8-year history
- Vitalik Buterin will join the foundation as an adviser
- The roadmap includes a total of eight projects
Bitcoin has been in green since the 'Santa run' set in last week, and altcoins have also generated gains in double digits. Interestinly, Meme tokens Shiba Inu and Dogecoin have also been garnering attention— but for entirely different reasons.
Shiba Inu's lead developer Shytoshi Kusama has been actively working to develop the Shiba Inu network with ShibaSwap and now, with the coming Shiba Inu NFT (Shiboshi) game. The game is being developed in a partnership with Playside Games.
The Shiba Inu team is also coming up with Shibarium, a ETH layer-2 solution and the SHI stablecoin. In response to its competitor's clear plans to raise the use cases for SHIB, the Dogecoin Foundation has released the platform's first ever roadmap that focuses on developing the entire network.
Both inspired by Shiba Inu dog memes, the SHIB and DOGE tokens have been at war with each other during most of this year.
In its announcement, the Foundation revealed the roadmap which consists of a total of eight projects that include LibDogecoin and GigaWallet. This is the first time a roadmap has been released by the Foundation since the inception of the token eight years ago.
The roadmap also includes Vitalik Buterin, the co-founder of Ethereum, as a member of the advisorial team. The Dogecoin foundation will work with Buterin to craft "a uniquely Doge proposal for a ‘community staking’ version of Proof of Stake (PoS) that will allow everyone, not just the big players, to participate in a way that rewards them for their contribution to running the network.”
