Donald Trump Faces Backlash For Not Donating Hotel Rooms, Meals To Coronavirus Patients
KEY POINTS
- Donald Trump was recently criticized by a journalist
- The POTUS has not donated hotel rooms, meals, and gift cards despite his businesses also being on lockdown
- The president donated his fourth-quarter salary to help combat the coronavirus pandemic
Donald Trump has been holding press briefings to discuss the coronavirus pandemic in the United States in the last couple of weeks. However, he has not said anything about donating or helping patients using his own money.
Earlier this month, the POTUS said that he will be donating his four-quarter salary from last year to help combat the deadly coronavirus. But as helpful as this might be, Political Flare journalist Jason Miciak still didn’t think that this was enough.
The president owns a number of hotels, restaurants, and other businesses that are not operational at the moment due to the global lockdown. This means that the restaurant workers most likely don’t have a job at the moment. Trump’s hotels have tons of rooms that may be occupied by patients recovering from the virus.
I want to see a reporter ask about whether he has donated a thing. I want to start a movement to demand that it be asked. I would even be interested in knowing whether work on the White House ‘tennis pavilion’ has been put on hold, given we just spent trillions bailing everyone out. I want someone to ask. Why? Because everyone else is suffering, and all are doing something.
The journalist went on to say that Trump, who reportedly wants to be praised constantly, should’ve used the pandemic as an opportunity to get his approval ratings up since he isn’t empathetic, to begin with. However, he has not said anything about his properties and businesses and how they can be used to help those fighting for their dear lives.
“I am willing to bet my entire stimulus check that he hasn’t donated a thing, or anything more than an almost accidental amount. It is not in his DNA to give money to people in need. His entire modus operandi is to make money from people caught in the con, whether it is from actual people or the banks that used to loan him money. He takes, he doesn’t give,” Miciak said.
