Donald Trump Paid For Melania Trump’s Engagement Ring In Full; POTUS Didn’t Get Discount

Donald Trump gifted Melania Trump with a $1.5 million 15-carat engagement ring years ago. But during that time, the POTUS claimed that he received a generous discount from Graff Diamonds.

While speaking with The New York Times, President Trump said that only a fool would want to pay a million dollars more for a diamond. He also claimed that he was given a $1 million discount.

This statement seemingly suggested that the FLOTUS’s engagement ring cost $2.5 million or that it was only priced at $500,000.

But Graff Diamonds’ chairman, Laurence Graff, said that he didn’t give the POTUS any favors when it came to the ring’s price. But at the end of the day, President Trump was still a pleasure to do business with.

Graff CFO Nicholas Paine also said that they don’t sell items for publicity value. And a third source said that the POTUS paid for the ring in full, and he also paid for it immediately.

And President Trump also paid for the second engagement ring that she gave to the FLOTUS during their 10^th wedding anniversary.

Meanwhile, the FLOTUS’s engagement ring is reportedly more expensive than that ring that the POTUS gave to his first wife, Ivana Trump. Melania’s ring would retail at $3 million today, according to 77Diamonds.com managing director Tobias Kormind.

“The 10th-anniversary ring would today retail for $3.5m or £2.7m - it is significantly larger than Melania's original engagement ring but it is not D Flawless, which is the top and most coveted diamond quality in existence,” he told Express.

And when the POTUS got engaged to his first wife, Ivana Trump, he didn’t reveal the price of the ring that he gave to her. Following their divorce, President Trump got engaged to Marla Maples.

The POTUS surprised his second wife with a 7.45-carat Harry Winston diamond engagement ring. Following their divorce in 2009, Maples sold the ring for an estimated $118,000.
