Donald Trump Responds To Ex-Wife Marla Maples Joining ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Season 22 Cast
Donald Trump might not always have nice things to say about his fellow politicians, but the 2016 presidential candidate did have a sweet message for his ex-wife Marla Maples.
During an interview with People magazine, the 69-year-old businessman responded to the news that his second wife has joined the Season 22 cast of ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars.”
“I think it is wonderful. I am very happy for her and think she will do very well,” Trump said of the ballroom-bound actress.
Maples and Trump married in December 1993, just two months after the couple welcomed their daughter, Tiffany Trump, who is now 22-years-old. After six years of marriage, the couple went their separate ways, divorcing in 1999.
But despite their divorce, Maples proved that she and Trump still have a great relationship. During a promo video for "DWTS," Maples was asked who would bring in more votes as a contestant on the reality show.
“Oh, well he’s doing pretty well right now, isn’t he?” Maples said in reference to Trump being the Republican front-runner. “He is really a master at whatever he chooses to do. If he puts his mind to something, he’ll do it well.”
Maples will hit the dance floor Monday, March 21, during the spring premiere of “DWTS,” with her partner and longtime friend, Tony Dovolani.
“I finally got the courage to do this because I believe my mom, who loved this show more than anything, is helping me from above,” she revealed to “Access Hollywood.” “We just lost her to the upper world, I like to say, two years ago, so the timing could not be more in alignment.”
“Dancing With the Stars” Season 22 will premiere on ABC Monday, March 21, at 8 p.m. EDT.
