Doomsday May 21, 2011: Harold Camping says Gay Pride, Same Sex Marriage main cause of Judgement Day
Doomsday prophet Harold Camping who is confidently propogating May 21 as the judgment day or end of the world cites the success of Gay Pride and Same Sex Marriage Movement as one of the primary reasons for the apocalypse.
Harold Camping's rhetoric about the Doomsday is being aired by Family Radio, a broadcasting network funded by his supporters.
Camping claims that the Second Coming of Jesus is due to transpire on May 21. He further claims that the day will be punctuated by two events. A great earthquake such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great and the rapture of true Christians.

However, Camping in an article Gay pride planned by God as a sign of the end considers Gay Pride movement the most prominent sign to decipher the end of the age. Speaking of Gay Pride as a sign Camping proclaims relationships, he says: Thus, we learn that God has planned today's situation of Gay Pride and same-sex marriages to show the world that it is on the threshold of Judgment Day. He has shown us that an obviously parallel situation exists between Sodom, when it was on the threshold of destruction and the world of our day, which is on the threshold of destruction.
Camping also cites other reasons which point to the Doomsday. The reasons include the formation of Israel as a nation in 1948, the rise of the Charismatic movement, the spiritual decay of the church and that the true believers will know the Day of the Judgment while many others who read the Bible will fail to ascertain the day.
Camping also made a failed prediction that Jesus Christ will return in 1994.
However, Camping has given US atheist a reason to party as they will hold multiple parties in response to the apocalyptic discourse. BBC reported that the Central North Carolina Atheists and Humanists have organized a two-day Rapture After Party in Fayetteville, North Carolina, while atheists in Washington have organized an event with the theme countdown to backpedaling as they believe that Camping and Family Radio will change their story once the Judgment Day prophecy fails to transpire.
