Dr. Dre’s estranged wife, Nicole Young, has made explosive new claims against the music mogul and alleged that he held a gun to her head on two occasions, according to court papers.
In court papers obtained by Entertainment Tonight, Young also accused Dre of punching her in the head and face twice when they were together. The documents further claimed that the rapper “kicked down” her bedroom door when she was allegedly hiding in her room to keep herself safe from Dre’s violent behavior in 2016.
“His long-term abuse must be a factor that the court takes into account in awarding support and fees,” Young said in the papers.
Apart from that, Young alleged that the abuse inflicted on her by Dre made her feel “emotionally” drained, resulting in “post-traumatic stress order.” The 51-year-old also claimed that she never called the police during their marriage because she was really scared of her husband, who could have done anything to her.
However, she also made it clear that abuse started well before they were married.
“I have also offered extensive and painful testimony about Andre's relentless campaign of abuse and control over me for more than half of my life. It is misleading, revolting and insulting for Andre to suggest that I have not been abused because, as a victim of relentless abuse and isolation, I did not create and maintain a contemporaneous record of abuse inflicted on me,” Young added.
Dre has vehemently denied all the allegations leveled against him, asserting that he never “abused or threatened” Young’s “physical safety.”
Young filed for divorce in June last year after 24 years of marriage. The exes share two adult children, 23-year-old son Truice and 19-year-old daughter Truly.
The news comes almost a week after it was reported that the record producer was hospitalized and being treated for a brain aneurysm.
“Thanks to my family, friends and fans for their interest and well wishes. I’m doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team. I will be out of the hospital and back home soon. Shout out to all the great medical professionals at Cedars. One Love!!” Dre said in an Instagram post addressing the reports.
