'Dragon Ball Super' Theory: Merus Could Be The Grand Priest Or The Fallen Angel Of Destruction
The new manga arc titled “Galactic Patrol Prisoner” in “Dragon Ball Super” had seen massive gains for the successful series especially when it introduced the new villain Moro and the Elite Galactic Patrolman Merus. Fans know that Moro is a very powerful villain that even the fan-favorite Saiyan, Son Goku, at this point, could not defeat him. But, things got more interesting in the latest chapter of the manga and fans are now intrigued by the real identity of Merus.
Many wild theories surround the identity of Merus since he was infused in the latest manga arc of “Dragon Ball Super.” Some fans think that he is Daishinkan or the Grand Priest in disguise. Another school of thought claims that he is an Angel of Destruction just like Whis; while some believe that he is a Fallen Angel of Destruction.
One interesting theory that “Dragon Ball Super” fans claim about Merus’ identity is that he is the Grand Priest in disguise. Popular YouTuber and “Dragon Ball” fan MaStar, in his channel, talked about this particular theory. Looking more closely on the physical structure of Merus and the Grand Priest Priest one could easily conclude that the two characters are identical, according to the YouTuber. Also, the Grand Priest has a slicked up hairdo, but if it is let down, he looks the same as Merus.
The “Dragon Ball Super” fan even showed an illustration where he replaced Merus’ hair with that of Daishinkan, which obviously, makes Merus look like the Grand Priest. In “Dragon Ball Heroes,” the Grand Priest is probably mentoring Goku, and it only makes sense because, throughout the series, the fan-favorite Saiyan is being trained by higher tier of gods. His most recent mentor is Whis, and the next-level is Whis’ father, Daishinkan.
But, if he is the Grand Priest, the question is, why couldn’t he beat Moro? Is it possible that the Grand Priest could be in two places at the same time, which are the Realm of the Gods and the Galactic Patrol? And, considering that Merus is indeed the Grand Priest, why didn’t he stop villains like Buu and Freiza?
The Fallen Angel of Destruction theory about Merus’ identity in the latest manga arc of “Dragon Ball Super” believes that he is one of the angels that escaped when his universe was erased by the Omni King. Now, he is hiding in plain sight because he does not want Zeno to discover that he is still alive. It appears that we will hear more of these claims when the new chapter in the latest manga arc of “Dragon Ball Super” arrives.
