Draya Michele-Orlando Scandrick Update: Judge Rescinds Domestic Violence Restraining Order Against ‘Basketball Wives LA’ Star
The saga between “Basketball Wives LA” star Draya Michele and her former fiancé, Dallas Cowboys player Orlando Scandrick, got even stranger Tuesday when a judge rescinded the athlete’s restraining order against the VH1 reality star, TMZ reported. The case was tossed after the NFL star did not show up to the court hearing.
Scandrick, 28, was supposed to appear in court to extend the order, but since he failed to appear, the judge dropped the case altogether, TMZ wrote. The athlete originally had a restraining order against Draya since she threatened to pour bleach in his eyes, doused him with pepper spray and physically abused him more than once.
Scandrick might not have shown up because he and Draya are dating again, sources told TMZ. Reps for Scandrick did not confirm the reconciliation rumor. The reality star, however, was spotted at a Los Angeles fashion show last week wearing her engagement ring, Madam Noire noted.
The couple broke up earlier in the month after Scandrick said he “made a poor decision to propose.” He added: “I am anxious to move on with my life both personally and professionally.”
A reason for the split was not given, but rumors swirled that Draya might have had a fling with Florida State Seminoles star Jameis Winston. Scandrick reportedly found nude pictures of Winston, who was drafted to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, on Draya’s phone.
Two days after Scandrick issued his public statement, he amended the comment. "I want to apologize for my original statement. I let my emotions fly impulsively,” he said. The Dallas Cowboys star also addressed the cheating rumors and said they weren’t true. “We just couldn’t make it work,” he said at the time.
Season 4 of “Basketball Wives LA” airs on Sundays on VH1 at 9 p.m. EDT.
