Duchess Kate Middleton's Hilarious Royal Christmas Event Photobomb Explained
Duchess Kate Middleton was the focus of many candid photos taken while attending a royal Christmas event on Wednesday morning. That was until a toddler stepped in front of a camera, sticking his tongue out and blocking the British royal entirely.
The very small blonde child was revealed to be Freddie Rusbridge, a 3-year-old attending the Royal Christmas event with his family at Peterley Manor Farm in Great Missenden, England, Express reported. The event was for the families who are supported by the organization known as Family Action, a charitable organization that focuses on providing support for families who are in need.
Despite stealing the spotlight from Middleton, the attention remained very much on her. Middleton recently inherited the role of Royal Patron of Family Action, a title that Queen Elizabeth II held for over 65 years.
Middleton spent the day making Christmas decorations in the “elf workshop” alongside these children, as well as helping them pick out Christmas trees for their families. It was during the process of crafting decorations that little Rusbridge saw the photo-op as a chance to be silly on camera, at the hilarious expense of the Duchess of Cambridge.
Only Middleton’s head can be seen poking out behind the up-close and blurry face of a carefree, silly-faced Rusbridge, in an otherwise serious photo. Middleton was speaking with someone off-camera at the event and was seemingly too distracted to notice the boy.

Though, Middleton did take note of one little boy who reminded her of her own son, 1-year-old Prince Louis. The child apparently wouldn’t stop following her around and trying to get her attention, reaching up to her and exclaiming “Me, me!”
Child and family care is something Middelton feels strongly about and affords much of her time in the pursuit of strengthening. Her being selected as its new patron aligns with her strong commitment and eight years worth of charity service dedicated to helping families.
