‘DWTS’ Predictions: Which Season 30 Pair Will Be Eliminated After ‘Grease’ Night?
A double Disney events week of “Dancing with the Stars” saw a shocking double elimination which led to Brian Austin Green and Sharna Burgess and Matt James and Lindsay Arnold leave the competition. Now, with the Ballroom taking a fun turn towards the 50s for a “Grease” themed night, another team could be on the chopping block and the judges may just tell them that they aren’t the one that they want.
Week five will see the 11 teams performing one routine each to classic songs from the hit musical’s movie version, which starred Olivia Newton John and John Travolta. Teams will Foxtrot, Jive, Viennese Waltz, Charleston, Rumba or Quickstep through hit songs like “Summer Nights” and “You’re The One That I want,” but sadly, someone could be saying goodbye before the night comes to an end.
While stars like Melora Harden and Artem Chigvintsev, Olivia Jade and Val Chmerkovskiy and Jojo Siwa and Jenna Johnson, who had the top scores at the end of Week 4 are likely to be safe, X other teams could see themselves stepping out of Mirrorball contention.
While scores for week 5 and viewer votes still need to be factored in prior to the next elimination and could change things, there are definite signs that one of these pairs may be jiving for the last time.
While there has been definite improvement and their routine on Disney Villains night earned massive praise from the judges, time may be starting to run out for Iman Shumpert and Daniella Karagach. The competition is already reaching a halfway point and the other remaining competitors have all started to break out or stay ahead of the pack—but these two have remained closer to the bottom the entire time. With the other competitors who had less-than-impressive footwork generally gone now, any mistakes could become more glaring—and if they wind up in the Bottom Two, then the judges may be less inclined to save them.
However, they will still likely live on another week, because while they are trailing near the bottom, recently, one other team has trended lower with the judges—the newly back in the ballroom after positive COVID-19 tests—Cody Rigsby and Cheryl Burke. They faced critiques over not having enough energy (which could be due to the long-term effects of their contracting the virus) and seeming to play it safe. While Cody’s fanbase likely will come through for them a little longer, if they ever do wind up in the bottom, the judges will seem less likely to keep them around over other teams.
However, the team that seems most likely to be saying goodbye next is Kenya Moore and Brandon Armstrong. The pair have now landed in the Bottom Two with combined judges’ scores and viewer votes for two weeks in a row—and are only still in the competition because they were saved. However, if there genuinely is not a fanbase for them that compares to the ones voting for everyone else, they will likely land there for the third time. Now, it seems far less likely the judges will continue saving them if the viewers are making it clear they don’t the “Real Housewives” star to win.
“Dancing With the Stars” will air on Monday, Oct. 18 at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
