EA Play At E3 2017: ‘Need For Speed,’ ‘Star Wars Battlefront 2’ To Be Featured
Star Wars Battlefront 2 and a new Need For Speed are two of five games confirmed for Electronic Arts’ EA Play event taking place during E3 2017. A press release from the publisher revealed the news Thursday.
The event, running June 10 - 12 at the Palladium in Hollywood, is a public offshoot of E3 with its own press conference. The full list of games with hands-on demos includes the next Star Wars Battlefront, Need For Speed and several EA Sports titles including Madden NFL 18, NBA Live 18 and FIFA 18. Of course that won’t be all. The post mentions “more to share in the coming months.”

Speaking to the two featured games in the headline, we don’t know much. Star Wars Battlefront 2 intends to build on the success of its predecessor by introducing fan-requested features like a full single-player campaign. Need For Speed intends to grow as well under the skillful hand of Ghost Games. Both projects are set to release this year.
Should folks want to get their hands on either of these hot titles, tickets for EA Play 2017 will go on sale April 20 at 12 p.m. EDT. More details on the ticketing process will become available soon.
As for those unannounced “more to share” experiences, we’ve got a few ideas. It’s been quite a while since we’ve heard from the BioWare Edmonton team behind Dragon Age: Inquisition. During an earnings call in January, a new IP was teased that will “bring players together in exciting ways.” Musings from last year also referenced an open-world game possibly helmed by EA Motive as well. Is it possible Criterion’s shelved Beyond Cars game from E3 2014 will resurface under a new name? Don’t count anything out when it comes to a publisher as massive as Electronic Arts.
