  • Ed Sheeran said he's been adopting healthier habits during the pandemic

Ed Sheeran got candid about the changes in his lifestyle after he and his wife Cherry Seaborn welcomed their daughter Lyra.

In a new interview, the "Shape of You" singer revealed he's been productive during the COVID-19 pandemic and has been living a healthier lifestyle while still working on his music.

"I've been making a lot of songs, I've been keeping busy doing that. I became a dad, which is a seismic change in my life," Sheeran told BBC Radio 1, as quoted by E! News.

The 30-year-old English crooner added that he has taken up painting and no longer eats "chicken wings and two bottles of wine every night." He proudly shared that he has managed to stop many of his "bad habits."

"I've been really healthy, like kind of stopped all the bad habits stuff in my life. You know, started exercising every day," Sheeran added. "I was eating like a takeaway every single day, and now I don't need to take away every single day and it's been good."

Last year, Sheeran spoke during an online summit on anxiety and well-being and shared his realizations about his own lifestyle and his "addictive personality."

He confessed that there was a time when he couldn't take things in moderation despite knowing how important it was. He would go on ice cream binges and eat four desserts until he threw up. He added that he couldn't do things "by half" and was called two-dinner Teddy because he used to order two meals and eat them.

"I'm covered in tattoos and I don't do things by half, so if I'm gonna drink... I see no point in having a glass of wine. I'd rather have two bottles," Sheeran added. "Having a glass of wine is having something in moderation and probably isn't going to affect your day the next day. But two bottles of wine probably might make you quite sad."

Meanwhile, the "Thinking Out Loud" hitmaker also revealed that he sings his songs to his daughter, who is not impressed with his music.

"I definitely spent hours and hours in front of the mirror pretending to be essentially what I am now. Practice makes perfect. Now I'll sing [my new songs] to my daughter, who's not my biggest fan. She just cries!" he was quoted by People as saying.

"No, I've got some she likes. She really likes 'Shape of You.' The marimba sound is good, but she doesn't like anything loud or anything belt-y," explained Sheeran.

Sheeran and Seaborn tied the knot in 2019 at their home in Suffolk, England. They announced that they welcomed their first child in September last year.
