‘The Elder Scrolls 6’: Director Confirmed Game’s Location Is Already In Concept and Design
Until now, “The Elder Scrolls 6” is still a mystery to fans and the game industry. Bethesda has not yet released any new details to the most-awaited “Skyrim” sequel in what seems like forever. The game was a no-show at E3 2019 or Gamescom 2019, but that does not mean that we don’t know anything about the game because the trailer speaks a lot of details about it.
One of the heavily discussed subjects related to “The Elder Scrolls 6” is its setting or location. Bethesda Gaming Studios Director Todd Howard on June 2018, made a comment about the game’s setting. During the interview, his only mention of the game’s setting is that it is in the concept and design stage.
On Reddit, a user named kaylenivy shared that he has been tinkering with professional photography software and believes he might have discovered the location of “The Elder Scrolls 6.” The user makes a strong case that the game could be set in Hammerfell, making reference to the locations of Valenfell, the Alik’r Desert, and Sentinel City. According to the Reddit user, the city that is faintly seen in “The Elder Scrolls 6’s” trailer is Sentinel City, which is one of the major kingdoms in Hammerfell.
However, Gamerant reports that some Reddit users do not agree with this theory regarding “The Elder Scrolls 6’s” location. One issue with kaylenivy’s location theory is that Valenfall is not a crater or an Imperial fort but a Dwemer ruin, and it is located in the Alik’r Desert. Based on the trailer, Bethesda is smart enough not to give away anything that would hint at the location or setting of the highly-anticipated game.
“Oblivion” and “Skyrim” took us to locations prominently inhabited by humans, and many are hoping that “The Elder Scrolls 6” would introduce a serious change, maybe somewhere dominantly inhabited by a non-human race. Previous game installments to the popular game series brought players to Morrowind, Cyrodil, Hammefell, and Highrock. But, there are still a lot of places to explore, including Black Marsh, Valenwood, and Elsweyr.
