KEY POINTS

  • "The Elder Scrolls 6" will maximize the hardware features of the PS5 and Xbox Series X
  • "The Elder Scrolls 6" loading screen is expected to run smoother
  • Bethesda Studios yet to reveal if they will use new Gamebryo game engine

“The Elder Scrolls 6” is still in development although the next installment is expected to be available on the PlayStation5, Xbox Series X and the PC. One thing to expect is that the next game will be coming with advanced graphics, a reality that most new games have to offer. That said, TES6 is expected to make the most out of the latest hardware and technology and game consoles have to offer.

But before anything else, the real test to see if Bethesda Studios was able to make improvements maybe once the game starts. Like most games, “The Elder Scrolls 6” has the usual loading screens that usually takes time. Looking at past games under Bethesda’s wing, these take roughly up to five minutes. Should there be problems, that could be infinite or not load at all. The reason behind that could be anything, including possibly the graphics rending component unable to handle the load.

Considering that the PS5 and the Xbox Series X will come with advanced technology and the latest hardware, loading time should run smoothly. Other than that, other components should help speed things up. That includes seeing the consoles equipped with solid-state drives (SSDs) that can help facilitate faster access time to content. Pairing that with the advanced graphics rendering, there is little room to consider that games like “The Elder Scrolls 6” will disappoint starting from the loading screen.

Bethesda is expected to make the most to make “The Elder Scrolls 6” as impressive as they can. The Creation Engine will likely be used once more unless Bethesda Studios has some new Gamebryo game engine on standby. It could be something like the Unreal Engine 5, a new kind of technology that would help account for smoother loading and graphics performance.

It would be best to note that with games these days, technology pieces like the Creation Engine try to make the game as realistic as possible. And that alone raises concerns on how well the hardware of game consoles can handle them. For example, the more objects there are in a certain space, the harder it would be for consoles to properly render them in real-time.

Graphics rendering should be handled properly if “The Elder Scrolls 6” does come out in the next five years. No official release date for TES6 has been hinted and all that is known for now is that it is in development. Much of this can be found in a previous post.
