  • There is still no update on "Elder Scrolls 6" but more information could be revealed soon

A next-gen update for the PS4 version of “The Elder Scrolls Online” is coming soon, which is a sign of Bethesda upholding its promise to PlayStation players despite its recent acquisition by Microsoft.

The PS5 version will be entitled “The Elder Scrolls Online: Console Enhanced” and it will have a host of technical improvements, according to a post on the PS Blog. Zenimax Online content manager Dominic Davies outlined the new changes that players can expect.

One of the first improvements Davies mentioned is that the game can now be experienced in 60 FPS when Performance Mode is activated, which he says is “a first for “ESO” on consoles. This also comes with improvements to the overall visual quality of the game including higher draw distances, better textures and improved screen effects like ambient occlusion.

The “Console Enhanced” edition will be available starting June 8. It will be released alongside Update 30 that will bring the new “Blackwood” chapter to the game.

Additionally, “The Elder Scrolls Online” will be free to play until April 13. Free players will be able to experience the entirety of the base game as well as the Vvardenfell zone. Players will also be able to buy the game or the previous “Greymoor” chapter for 60% off. This also applies to PC players via Steam.

“Blackwood” is the next major DLC for “The Elder Scrolls Online” that will introduce new areas, dungeons, equipment and a new Companions system. The events in the DLC will be a part of the “Gates Of Oblivion” event that will be running until the end of 2021.

Unfortunately for fans of the greater “Elder Scrolls” series, there’s still no update on “The Elder Scrolls 6.” Bethesda will be focusing on “Starfield,” its new open world sci-fi RPG, according to Tech Radar. It has been almost three years since the sixth installment in the acclaimed RPG series was announced back in E3 2018, but Bethesda has been keeping fans in the dark ever since.

Additional information regarding both “The Elder Scrolls 6” and “Starfield” may be revealed in an upcoming Microsoft/Bethesda showcase. The presentation is expected to take place in the summer.
