‘Elementary’ Season 6 Spoilers: EP Says Joan May Regret Making Deal With Halcon

Julio “Halcon” Zelaya (Jon Huertas) is not yet done with Joan Watson (Lucy Liu).

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Rob Doherty revealed that Joan is going to face the consequences of her shady deal with Halcon in Season 6 of “Elementary.” “On paper, it would appear Joan’s business with Julio ‘Halcon’ Zelaya is concluded,” Doherty said. “He gave her evidence that she was able to use to bring his sister’s killer to justice, but Halcon may not see it the way Joan sees it. He may think she owes him a favor, not the other way around. Gang leaders are funny that way.”

In Season 5 finale, Joan figured out that Tyus Wilcox (Stephen Rider) killed Halcon’s sister. But because Joan didn’t have evidence to prove it, she met with Halcon herself and asked him to let the authorities take a look at his sister’s body. Joan said that if Tyus got sent to prison then Halcon would have an easier time getting revenge on him.

Although Tyus initially claimed that he didn’t kill Halcon’s sister, authorities later found blood on Halcon’s sister’s body belonging to Tyus. Since he lied about the murder, Tyus’ immunity deal — which he got for sharing details about SBK with the police — became void.

Huertas made his series debut as smuggler and drug dealer Halcon in Season 5, episode 2. In the episode, Halcon hired Sherlock (Jonny Lee Miller) to track down who killed Rey Torres and three of his other men. Sherlock took the job, but in return, he asked Halcon to give him the name of another drug dealer who had been selling heroin laced with fentanyl that had already killed 12 people including a woman he knew.

At the end of the episode, Sherlock found out that Wayne Vachs (Ron Rifkin) was the one behind the murders of Halcon’s men. Although Halcon was not able to kill Wayne to avenge the deaths of his men, Halcon and his gang Mara Tres agreed to keep its distance from Sherlock and Joan, allowing their lives to return to normal.
