Eleven killed in Israel's Gaza attack on Friday; ceasefire in shambles
The death toll in Israel's deadly air attack on Gaza on Friday rose to 11, according to reports.
The renewed Israeli attacks came in retaliation to the missile attack on an Israeli school bus on Thursday which seriously injured a student.
Many of those who died in fresh violence are civilians, BBC reported, quoting doctors. The ceasefire which was announced by Hamas, which controls the Gaza strip, lay in shambles as both sides renewed attacks soon after the announcement of the truce.
Palestinian splinter groups continued to fire rockets into Israel though a ceasefire was announced by Hamas. BBC quoted an Israeli police as saying that at least 15 rockets were fired into Israel on Friday. No deaths were reported.
The Israeli attack is the fiercest since the 2009 confrontation between it and the Palestinians. About 14 people have been killed so far and scores have been wounded.
