Ellen DeGeneres dismissed the rumors that she and Portia de Rossi were having a marital crisis as she explained why she had to move into Courteney Cox's home.
DeGeneres shared on Thursday's episode of "Ellen" that she has been bunking with the former "Friends" star even calling the actress her "landlord." At the same time, she dispelled the rumors claiming that she and de Rossi are having marital problems.
"I’m not having marital troubles," DeGeneres explained. "I’m not living with Courteney Cox because I’m kicked out of my house."
The talk show host explained that they sold their house in Beverly Hills and she needed a place to stay. Cox was kind enough to welcome DeGeneres to her home. The "Scream" star then shared what it was like having DeGeneres at home and called the latter a “terrible roommate.”
"You’re my style guru, so I was nervous about you staying there, being that I haven’t redone it. I haven’t been there in a year," Cox explained. "I had it cleaned. I moved everything off of the right side of the bathroom, so you’d have your space in the drawers. I was just really ready for you."
The "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective" star also sent her assistant over to ensure that DeGeneres is comfortable during her stay. However, it seems that the host has already made herself more at home than expected.
"And all of the sudden it was like, ‘Wait a minute. Ellen’s toothbrush is on my side!’ I had her open the drawer and I was like, ‘Well, where’s my makeup?'" Cox shared while laughing. "So essentially you’re a terrible roommate. You took over my side and your side."
DeGeneres defended herself saying, "That was Portia who took over your side" before adding, "I only have one side. She happened to be there one night."
DeGeneres also shared a hilarious video she filmed the night before Cox's appearance on the show. In the clip, the host said the house was lovely and she was looking for office supplies but found "Undies for Two" hidden in the cabinet. DeGeneres also found a puppet that looked like her.
"I'm so embarrassed I definitely didn't think you would go through the cabinet and see that doll I have of you," Cox said.
"Well, look, I know you're a big fan and I know you've bought a lot of stuff that looked like me. I found a lot of stuff, but that was the weirdest," DeGeneres commented as Cox smiled coyly saying, "That was weird, I’m sorry."
