Ellen DeGeneres Rumored To 'Leave' Hollywood For Good, 'Moving To Australia' With Portia de Rossi
Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have been together for more than a decade already. Though the pair has been hounded with split and divorce rumors for years, “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” host and her wife appeared to have become stronger than ever lately. Now, there are claims saying that Ellen and Portia might consider living in Australia for good.
In Touch Weekly reported that Elle DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are planning to purchase a property at the Australian-American mode’s hometown. The entertainment news publication claimed that Portia wants to stay in Horsham, Australia, for several months.
“[Portia] really wants to spend at least six months a year there for a few years, then they can think about living there full time,” a source told the publication. It added, however, the Ellen could not imagine moving to the Land Down Under permanently.
Adding fuel to the fire are the reports claiming that Ellen DeGeneres is planning to quit Hollywood for good. Life & Style, previously, stated that Portia thinks Ellen can do better if she gives up her hosting gig. At the time, the couple was also rumored to be facing challenges in their marriage, which, according to rumors, is also one of the reasons why Portia wants Ellen to leave the spotlight.
Though Ellen already hinted at saying goodbye to her show early this year, this does not necessarily mean that she is planning to leave the United States as well. Also, with In Touch and Life & Style magazine’s history of creating stories based on the claims of its phony sources, this could be another rumor waiting to be debunked.
Meanwhile, Ellen DeGeneres skipped Dakota Johnson’s birthday bash to watch football with former U.S. President George W. Bush. On Wednesday, a video of the talk show host and the “Fifty Shades of Grey” actress spread like wildfire online. The said clip featured Ellen and Dakota talking about the actress’ birthday party.
“How was the party? I wasn’t invited,” Ellen told Dakota. “Actually, no, that’s not the truth, Ellen, you were invited,” the former leading lady of Jamie Dornan responded. “No, last time I was on the show, last year, you gave me a bunch of s— about not inviting you, but I didn’t even know you wanted to be invited,” Dakota went on.
Some netizens, then, speculated that Ellen DeGeneres ditched Dakota Johnson’s party in Malibu to watch the Dallas Cowboys-Green Bay Packers game. They figured out that the “Fifty Shades Darker” star’s bash happened a day before Ellen and the former President were spotted together in Arlington, Tex.
The clip received several reactions on Twitter. “Knowing that Ellen missed Dakota Johnson’s 30th birthday to hang with her good buddy George Bush really is the icing on the cake,” Evan Ross Katz wrote. “Dakota Johnson is the best possible result of nepotism in that she's actually talented AND her upbringing as the child of A-List celebrities means she is afraid of absolutely no one,” Connor Goldsmith said.
