Gwen Stefani recently apologized to her husband Blake Shelton on-air after she forgot to wear their wedding.

During an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" Thursday, Stefani, who married the country singer in July 2021, realized she forgot to put her wedding ring back on after having it cleaned.

"I forgot to wear my ring," she told host Jimmy Kimmel, laughing as she showed her hand adorned with other rings. "It's like the first time! I thought, 'OK, I'm going to put it in the jewelry cleaner so Jimmy sees how sparkly and amazing my ring is.' And then, hello, empty finger."

The "Rich Girl" singer added, "I'm so embarrassed! I'm sorry, Blakey. I love my husband, and I love being married to him. It's just the greatest thing that's ever happened to me, so here we are."

Shelton and Stefani met on the set of "The Voice" in 2014. At the time, the two were still married to their former spouses — Shelton to Miranda Lambert and Stefani to Gavin Rossdale. They later started dating in 2015 after they split from their respective ex-partners.

After five years of dating, they tied the knot on July 3 last year at Shelton's Oklahoma ranch.

In a previous interview, the "God Gave Me You" singer gushed over Stefani's wedding vows. Shelton described his wife's words as moving, especially since she had spoken about his late brother and dad as if she had known them.

"Man, it hit me. Like, I couldn't believe how hard it hit me," Shelton told People. "I felt like at this point, I've kind of gotten calloused. I guess I'm not because that absolutely slayed me. It's hard to even remember what else she even said. I'll never forget that feeling."

Shelton also opened up about being a stepdad to Stefani's three sons — Kingston, 15, Zuma, 13, and Apollo, 8 — whom she shares with her ex-husband, Rossdale.

The country star said Stefani initially thought their relationship would not last because she already has three boys. However, Shelton credited his late father for setting an example for him that a child "was not even a consideration" in a romantic partnership.

"You got three boys? Awesome! My dad did it," Shelton told the outlet. "My dad raised me. I could do this. I didn't know what I was signing up for, but I was all about signing up for it. And every day I've fallen in love with the boys as much as I do with Gwen."
