Emma Watson Debunks 'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie Rumors: 'I Haven't Read The Book, I Haven't Read A Script'
Ever since the film adaptation of E.L. James' massively successful erotic novel "50 Shades of Grey" was first announced, uncontrollable rumors have understandably abounded the next logical question: who's going to star in it? While a lot of names were being tossed around last week, one actress that the leading role as Anastasia Steele kept landing on throughout all corners of the internet was former "Harry Potter" star Emma Watson, despite a public statement from the film's producer that "no one has been cast in any role," who explained via Twitter, "We have to get a writer and director first."
Though it's difficult (if not impossible) to pinpoint whee exactly the Emma Watson rumors began, the 22-year old actress finally addressed the rumors in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly. "I haven't read the book, I haven't a read a script, nothing," Watson told the reporter. "There are so many movies you become attached to when I've literally never even received a phone call. It was the same way with The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo—I never even saw a script!"
The news comes shortly after Angelina Jolie quashed rumors of her own hinting that she might have been slated to direct the BDSM-heavy film.
