Emma Watson, William ‘Mack’ Knight Call It Quits After 2 Years
Emma Watson and William “Mack” Knight are no longer together. The couple have reportedly decided to call it quits after dating for almost two years.
Just a day after Thanksgiving, a confirmation that Watson and Knight have ended their romance was given to Us Weekly by a source who spoke on condition of anonymity. The source claims the pair actually went on separate ways earlier this year, but they haven’t really spoken about it publicly.
It does make sense if Watson and her ex parted ways several months ago, since they were last spotted together on on a dinner date in New York City on May 25. Since then, they were thought to have been pretty elusive and started to keep their relationship very private. However, the confirmation this week explains why the “Harry Potter” actress was never seen again with Knight.
A rep for the actress was asked to comment on the split, but the rep only said, “I’m afraid I don’t comment on my client’s personal life.” Both Watson, 27, and Knight, 37, are also mum on the issue.
Watson and Knight started dating in 2015. They were first seen together in October that year as they both showed up at the Broadway musical “Hamilton” in the Big Apple. Their relationship was previously deemed fit as both parties are Ivy League-educated. Watson, graduated at Brown University, while Knight graduated from Princeton in 2003 with a Bachelor’s in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. He also has an MBA from Columbia Business School.
When news broke that the two have officially called it quits, Watson was photographed out and about in Paris, France. She reportedly looked very happy and relaxed as she was strolling with a female friend, as per Daily Mail.
Watson has always been very protective of her relationship, and she’s known for avoiding questions regarding her boyfriend. In February, she explained why she no longer allows her fans to take pictures of her. Back then, she said that she did not want to the paparazzi to track her based on the photos being shared by her fans.
“I want to be consistent: I can’t talk about my boyfriend in an interview and then expect people not to take paparazzi pictures of me walking around outside my home. You can’t have it both ways,” she said at the time. “I’ve noticed, in Hollywood, who you’re dating gets tied up into your film promotion and becomes part of the performance and the circus. I would hate anyone that I were with to feel like they were in any way part of a show or an act.”
