Emma Watson's Single, But Don't Call Her That: 'Harry Potter' Star's New Phrase
"Harry Potter" star Emma Watson is sharing her thoughts on being single as she approaches the age of 30.
In a new interview for British Vogue, she revealed that when she was younger she didn't understand why some people were concerned about reaching that milestone without a partner, especially because at the time she "had all these ideas" about what her life would look like once she got to that age.
However, she said, since she started getting closer and closer to her April 2020 birthday, she noticed that she was beginning to feel "stressed and anxious about it."
"If you have not built a home, if you do not have a husband, if you do not have a baby, and you are turning 30, and you're not in some incredibly secure, stable place in your career, or you're still figuring things out... There's just this incredible amount of anxiety," the actress said.
However, "The Bling Ring" actress revealed that she has created a new phrase to combat such feelings. "It took me a long time, but I'm very happy [being single]. I call it being self-partnered," she said.

Even if the actress wasn't feeling as confident about her romantic life, she still has a lot to look forward to when it comes to her profession, including her role in the upcoming film adaptation of Louisa May Alcott's "Little Women." Meryl Streep, Saorise Ronan, and Timothée Chalamet are also set to star in the Greta Gerwig-directed project, which is slated for a Dec. 25 opening.
Watson's full British Vogue interview for the December issue will be available on Nov. 8.
