‘Empire’ Stars Trai Byers And Grace Gealey Marry In Intimate Cayman Island Ceremony

Anika (Grace Gealey) and Andre (Trai Byers) may not be romantically involved on Fox’s “Empire,” but in real life to the two actors took their relationship to the next step by getting married! While Gealey and Byers have not confirmed the happy news, reports have surfaced that the couple recently wed in a small, private ceremony.

According to TMZ, Byers and Gealey tied the knot Thursday in front of a small group of friends and family at a mansion on Grand Cayman island. The outlet, which posted photos from the wedding and reception, said the pair’s “Empire” co-stars were not in attendance.

News of Byers, 32, and Gealey’s engagement first broke over the summer when Us Weekly reported the actor had proposed on her 31st birthday. “He popped the question, and she was totally surprised and elated. She can’t stop looking at the ring! They celebrated all night,” a source said.

As previously reported, Gealey didn’t confirm her engagement until October. During an appearance on Tyra Banks’ daytime talk show, “FABLife,” Gealey dished on dating a co-worker before flashing her sparkly diamond ring.

“I think that if you do get involved — I keep wanting to say on set — I think that if you do get involved at your workplace you have to know that this is something that you want to be invested in, and this is just not just something that is frivolous and fleeting,” she explained (via People magazine). “[You have] to have the maturity to say that if this doesn’t work out, you’re not going to, you know, throw staplers.”
