Erykah Badu hosted her intimate Soul Train Soul Food Vegan Dinner Party, celebrating her role as host and executive producer of the 2016 Soul Train Awards last Monday.
The event was a private dinner and in very Badu fashion, was not your traditional dinner. Attendees experienced “soul” the Badu way. The sit-down dinner for 25 people included kimonos, no shoes and a heart-felt vegan meal prepared by Afro-vegan chef Bryant Terry, all while engaging organically with "family."
Rise and Root Farm provided the produce for the evening, Ghetto Gastroserved hors d’ourves, Andre Mack, owner of Mouton Noir Wines, poured wine, and Jaynelle St. Jean, owner of Patisserie, provided dessert.
The Soul Train Awards 2016 air on Centric and BET Sunday, at 8 p.m. EST, with performances from Badu, Brandy, Bobby Brown, Dru Hill, Sisqo, D.R.A.M., Anderson Paak, Yuna, BJ the Chicago Kid and more.
