An escort woman in the U.K. who pushed a 16-year-old "vulnerable" girl into prostitution has been found guilty and sentenced to prison. The girl was allegedly forced to have sex with 17 men in one day after she failed to pay off a debt to the escort, identified as Tyler-Jo Walker, 23.
Walker from Newcastle, England, was sentenced to 16 months in prison with a suspended sentence of two years after the court found her guilty of exploiting the teenager and selling her for money, as reported by Manchester Evening News.
The escort forced the unidentified teenager to have sex with 30 men in two weeks after the girl could not repay a loan of £100 she took from her. Walker also took naked pictures of the victim and posted them at an escort agency as a potential worker, claiming the girl was 18.
The teenager made £3,000 (around $3900) in two weeks, and Walker took £700 (around $910) of the cash she made. The victim was eventually rescued after her mother found out about the incidents from a text message delivered to the girl's phone.
The court heard that Walker incited the girl into prostitution even after she refused to have sex with men. Walker threatened the girl saying "how else are you going to make this money," when she expressed her dissent, Chronicle Live reported.
Walker allegedly forced the girl to have sex with seven men on the first day and when the teenager complained about feeling sick, she responded, "You will get used to it."
On another occasion, Walker took 17 men to a hotel in Newcastle, where the teen was forced to have sex with them one after the other.
The court found that the troubled teenager faced a significant impact from the traumatic incidents. "She has found it difficult to get on with her life as she often finds herself thinking about it, is embarrassed about it, and no doubt it will have a long-lasting effect on a girl who was already troubled," Judge Robert Spragg said during the sentencing.
Walker, who has no previous convictions, was sentenced after she pleaded guilty to causing or inciting prostitution for gain.
