ESPYS 2018: Host, TV Channel, Live Stream, Date And Time
Music, movies and TV get celebrated throughout the year at many different award shows, but tonight sports are front and center. The 2018 ESPYS air live Wednesday night from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
The 26th annual awards show honors the best athletes, games, sports moments, comebacks and performances. There will also be special awards given throughout the evening, including the Arthur Ashe Courage Award and the Pat Tillman Award for Service.
Here’s everything you need to know about The 2018 ESPYS.
When And Where Can You Watch The Show And Red Carpet?
The award show will air live on ABC on Wednesday at 8 p.m. EDT and is expected to end at 11 p.m. EDT. Fans will also be able to watch the show online with a live stream on Watch ESPN and on the Watch ESPN app.
Prior to the start of the actual event, ESPN2 will be airing “2018 ESPYS Live on the Red Carpet” from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. EDT, and it will then re-air on ESPN at 7 p.m. EDT. Between the two showings, there’s a special episode of “SportsCenter” airing at 6 p.m. from the red carpet.
Which Celebrities Will Be Hosting And Performing?
This year’s ESPYS will be hosted by former racing driver Danica Patrick, who is the first woman to host the award show since its inception in 1993.
“My first ESPYS was 2005, and I have been a fan, coming back every year since,” Patrick told ESPN. “It is the biggest night of the year for sports. Every year, I leave feeling so inspired! I am excited to be able to help celebrate, laugh and cry about the past year in sports with everyone. It’s going to be a great night and one full of more than a few surprises.”
Though the show focuses on sports, there will be a few musical moments. Jorja Smith and MILCK are both set to perform, and Crown and the M.O.B. are returning as The ESPYS house band.
Which Celebrities Will Be Presenting And/Or Attending?
Joining Patrick and the artists at the ESPY Awards will be a slew of celebrities from all subcategories of pop culture. Some of the stars presenting awards include Kate Beckinsale, Chadwick Boseman, Alison Brie, John Elway, G-Eazy, Jim Gaffigan, Jennifer Garner, Olivia Holt, Trevor Jackson, Allison Janney, Dan Marino, Adam Rippon, Mikaela Shiffrin, Jon Stewart, Jessica Szohr, Russell Wilson and more.
