  • The finale of the show will be held on May 22
  • "American Song Contest" announced for 2022

"Eurovision Song Contest 2021" semifinal is all set to air on Tuesday, and it seems like the fans are all set to experience the world's most popular live music event.

The first semifinal, which will be broadcast on NBC, is scheduled for Tuesday, while the second semifinal is slated to air on Thursday. The grand finale, which will include Germany, France, the U.K., Italy and Spain along with the previous winner, the Netherlands, will be held on Saturday in Rotterdam.

Chantal Janzen, Jan Smit, Edsilia Rombley and Nikkie de Jager will serve as show presenters. Last week, Eurovision's official website announced that the "American Song Contest" will compete for "Best Original Song" in the country.

The U.S. version of the show will represent all 50 states of the country, five territories and the nation’s capital. It will consist of solo artists, duos, DJs and bands from various genres. It will be a live competition that will consist of three rounds -- qualifying rounds, semifinals and the grand final.

The original "Eurovision" has been running for 64 years and was organized by the European Broadcasting Union.

The official Twitter handle of the "Eurovision Song Contest" tweeted on Sunday, "It's exactly one week until the #Eurovision 2021 Grand Final!"

In the same tweet's thread, they tweeted, "And to get you in the mood, we're holding a special edition of #EurovisionAgain with a 2019 rewatch on YouTube!" along with the video link.

The contestants have been currently rehearsing in Rotterdam for over a week now and they have been following COVID-19 protocols to avoid the spread, BBC reported, adding they are not allowed to mix with people outside the crew and cast.

Greece's entry Stefania told BBC, "Me and my team test each other every day. We're really careful with each other. Everyone keeps their distance and respects each other's choices. I don't hug anyone."

Fans shared their reaction in the comments section, and wrote, "Can’t wait. Wish I could be in Rotterdam this week but I guess not. I would encourage anyone who hasn’t been to the Netherlands to go once it’s safe."

Another user commented, "Dinosaurs were roaming the earth the last time England won Eurovision lol."

However, one of the fans seemed upset considering the COVID-19 pandemic and the safety protocols.

"Next week the NL will host the Eurovision Song contest even though hospitals warned they might not be able to give medical assistance if something happens to anyone because the covid situation is still so dire," the user tweeted. "It's a disgrace."

"And don't be fooled when you see everyone there wearing FFP2 masks. It's literally the only place in NL where people (are allowed) to wear them. They don't even wear them in hospitals," the user continued.

Semifinal 1 will air on Tuesday, at 3 p.m. ET, noon PT, semifinal 2 on Thursday at 3 p.m. ET, noon PT, and Grand-Final on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET, noon PT.
