Evelyn Lozada Explains Why She’s Joining ‘Basketball Wives: LA’ Season 6; Nick Young’s Ex Rumored To Join Cast
Its official, Evelyn Lozada is returning to the “Basketball Wives” franchise. Evelyn was originally a cast member on the Miami show, but announced recently that she’s joining the Season 6 of “Basketball Wives: LA.”
Evelyn made the announcement on Thursday’s show of “The Real,” where she will be serving as guest co-host next week. The mom of two also explained why she decided to make a return to the popular VH1 reality series.
“I’ve had several conversations with Shaunie [O’Neal] about this and we just really want to change the direction of the show. I feel like a lot of the arguments and a lot of the storylines, you know, have been done before,” she explained. “We really want to add substance and depth to the show.”
According to TMZ, Evelyn won’t be the only newbie on the Season 6 cast. Sources told the outlet that Nick Young’s ex, Keonna Green, will also star. Green made headlines when news broke that she was pregnant with Young’s second baby. At the time, Young was still engaged to Iggy Azalea. TMZ also reported that Dwyane Wade’s ex Aja Metoyer has also been added to the cast. Metoyer and Wade had a baby together while the athlete was said to be on a break with now-wife Gabrielle Union.
Adding new faces to the “Basketball Wives: LA” cast isn’t the only shakeup the network is doing. It’s been reported that five cast members were fired and won’t be returning for the upcoming season. According to the Jasmine Brand, those ladies are Brandi Maxiell, Malaysia Pargo, Angel Brinks, Angel Love and DJ Duffey. Jackie Christie, Tami Roman and Shaunie will be back for Season 6. Sources told the outlet that although Malaysia, Brandi, Duffey and the Angels were fired they were all given the opportunity to make cameos on the new season.
“Basketball Wives: LA” Season 6 has not been given a premiere date yet.
