Mia Khalifa was accused by Twitter users of playing the victim after sharing a video of the Beirut explosion and asking which between her and Hezbollah is more disgraceful.
The ex-porn star has been banned in Lebanon for doing porn. On Tuesday, she blamed Hezbollah, an Islamic political party based in the country, for the massive explosion in Beirut that killed 78 people and injured 4,000 individuals.
"'Fireworks'?!!!!! Who’s more disgraceful in the eyes of god, me or hezbollah? You’re disgusting and the lebanese people deserve better," Khalifa wrote on Twitter.
However, her post was met with disapproval from her fans because they felt that she was playing the victim and it wasn't the right thing to do.
"When Mia Khalifa tries to make herself a victim when she was a grown a-- adult who chose to go into p*rn and now is trying to redeem herself lol, it’s never gonna happen," @zahralv wrote.
"Lmao by tweeting this, and making yourself the victim, still you," @FortressAnfiel2 added.
"Just share links to donate, this isn't a good time to take the victim's role and make it about you, please and thank you," @xxxxemachine commented.
"U have some serious issues by taking other people's tragedies and manipulating it to make urself the victim. U need to seek help asap," @ZakariaAguib opined.
"Only you to take a tragedy and make yourself the victim lol. Like god damn, u have issues," @greenpowerangr wrote.
"Mia I like you but time and place. People are dead," @boredmonet commented.
"Literally not the time or place...... read the room......people died," @a______but added.
Meanwhile, some defended Khalifa from those who bashed her for her post. One said Lebanon is still her country. Another reminded the others that Khalifa has been doing her part to help.
Even if Khalifa has been banned in Lebanon, she has always showed love to her home country.
"Beirut, my heart is always with you," she wrote in one tweet.
In 2017, she also celebrated the country's Independence Day. However, in her post, she referred to Lebanon as the country she loves but doesn’t love her back.
"Happy Independence Day to the country I love, but doesn’t really love me back #Lebanon," Khalifa wrote on Twitter at the time.
