‘The Exorcist’ To Be Renewed For Season 2? Episode 9 Synopsis Teases Bigger Problem For Rance Family
“The Exorcist” Season 1 has aired eight episodes so far, and its ratings haven’t been very impressive.
However, even though the new FOX series hasn’t fared well with its viewers, there are rumors that “The Exorcist” will still be renewed, at least for another season. According to Premiere Date TV, even though there was a drop in ratings after the show's first week, “The Exorcist” has been receiving positive feedback from audiences.
Meanwhile, the upcoming episode, titled “Chapter Nine: 162,” will introduce another major problem for the Rance family. In the past, the family tried to hide the truth about Casey’s (Hannah Kasulka) disappearance. Their neighbors later on discovered that Casey was possessed by a demon and may also be the one responsible for the mass killings in their area. Her disappearance broke the Rance family apart, and what’s in store for them in episode 9 will certainly make things worse.
Additionally, “Chapter Nine: 162” will see Father Marcus (Ben Daniels) and his companions try to avert a tragedy that will take place on the eve of Pope Sebastian’s visit to Chicago. Elsewhere, Father Tomas (Alfonso Herrera) will also be given a life-altering opportunity that will test his dedication to the church and the Rance family.
After episode 9, “The Exorcist” will air another episode on Friday, Dec. 16 before it goes on hiatus. As of late, it is still unclear whether or not the series will release its 11th episode next year and if the show will go on a long break before Season 2 is announced.
“The Exorcist” also stars Geena Davis as Angela Rance, Brianne Howey as Katherine, Alan Ruck as Henry, Mouzam Makkar as Jessica and Kurt Egyiawan as Brother Bennett.
“The Exorcist” Season 1, episode 9 will air on FOX on Dec. 9 at 9 p.m. EST.
